Stanley Stan Pines also known as Grunkle Stan is one of the main characters of the Gravity Falls cartoon series and a great uncle of and summer guardian of Dipper and Mable Pines. After many years of crime and infamy, he has taken up a residence in the remote town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, where he left his previous name of Stanford Pines and became Grunkle Stan. Now in Gravity Falls, he exploits the local lore and gullibility of the dumbest people in the world to finance himself by running a dubious tourist trap known to many as the Mystery Shack where he displays many fake mystical treasures and fake paranormal things.
