Donkey Kong was created when Mario was known as Jumpman and was a hero in the Donkey Kong series. The first game with Donkey Kong was released in 1981 and was called Donkey Kong available on arcade machines. The game featured Donkey Kong as himself and the eponymous character as the main hero, which was a debut for both Donkey Kong and the Mario characters.
