Wanda Maximoff better known as the Scarlet Witch is a Romani Transian sorceress and a twin sister of Quicksilver in the Marvel universe. She was once believed to be a mutant child of Magento. Wanda and Quicksilver were enhanced by the High Evolutionary at Mount Wundagore where the Scarlet Witch became a conduct of chaos magic, allowing her to shift probabilities and warp reality itself in the form of hexes. Together with her brother and Magento, they joined the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to fight for Magento's mutant supremacy cause, but Wanda and Quicksilver left him and joined the super-heroic Avengers instead.
