Barney Calhoun is one of the main characters of the Half-Life game series by Valve, he was a security guard at the Black Mesa Research Facility but became a resistance leader. Starting the Half-Life: Blue Shift game he transformed from the Half-Life generic security guard into a standalone character and was even given a surname together with an extended role. As the Black Mesa security guard, Barney Calhoun was tasked with duties including guarding assigned sections, performing general maintenance, and assisting the science crew when it was required. In the Half-Life 2 game, Barney organizes a Resistance push on a train station to escape City 17 before the Citadel self-districts.
