A Minecraft Chicken is a passive mob that is found in the grass biomes and it is a main source of chicken, feathers, and eggs. Chickens spawn naturally in the Overworld where there is a free space and in places with a nice light level so that it feels comfortable. Minecraft chickens do now spawn in deserts, frozen and stony peaks, snowy slopes, meadows, wooded badlands, and everywhere they feel uncomfortable. In Java editions of Minecraft, baby zombies and baby zombified piglins have a small chance to spawn on a chicken forming a chicking jockey.
