Extension Not Working

If the extension doesn't seem to be working at all, try these solutions:

• Check if Extension is Enabled

  Go to chrome://extensions/ (or edge://extensions/) and make sure the toggle next to Custom Progress Bar is turned ON. If it's disabled, click the toggle to enable it.

• Reload the Extension

  On the extensions page, click the reload icon (circular arrow) next to Custom Progress Bar. Then refresh the YouTube page.

• Restart Your Browser

  Sometimes a simple browser restart can resolve extension issues. Close all browser windows completely and reopen them.

Progress Bar Not Appearing on YouTube

If the progress bar style isn't showing up on YouTube videos:

• Select a Style in Extension

  Open the extension popup and make sure you've selected a progress bar style. The style must be activated in the extension menu to appear on YouTube.

• Refresh YouTube Page

  After selecting a style, refresh the YouTube page (F5 or Ctrl+R / Cmd+R). The progress bar should appear on the next video you play.

• Check YouTube Page Load

  Make sure the YouTube page has fully loaded. If you're using YouTube's dark mode or other themes, they should be compatible, but try refreshing if the progress bar doesn't appear.

Styles Not Loading or Appearing

If you've added styles but they're not showing up:

• Check Internet Connection

  Styles are loaded from our servers. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If you're offline, previously added styles should still work.

• Re-add the Style

  Go to the Manage Progress Bars page and check if the style is listed. If not, try adding it again from the catalog.

• Clear Browser Cache

  Sometimes cached data can cause issues. Try clearing your browser cache for custom-progressbar.com and reload the extension.

Add Button is Disabled

If the 'Add' button on style cards is grayed out or disabled:

• Install the Extension

  The Add button only works when the extension is installed. Make sure you've installed Custom Progress Bar from Chrome Web Store or Edge Add-ons.

• Enable Extension in Incognito

  If you're browsing in incognito/private mode, you need to allow the extension to run in private windows. Go to chrome://extensions/, find Custom Progress Bar, and enable 'Allow in incognito'.

• Check Extension Permissions

  The extension needs permission to modify YouTube pages. If you've denied permissions, go to chrome://extensions/, find Custom Progress Bar, and ensure all required permissions are granted.

Performance Issues or Slow Loading

If YouTube or the extension seems slow:

• Reduce Number of Styles

  Having too many styles loaded can impact performance. Try removing unused styles from your collection and keep only the ones you actively use.

• Disable Heavy Animations

  Some progress bar styles have complex animations that can affect performance. Try switching to a simpler style if you notice lag.

• Check Other Extensions

  Other browser extensions can also affect performance. Try disabling other extensions temporarily to see if that improves speed.

Conflicts with Other Extensions

If the progress bar conflicts with other YouTube-related extensions:

• Check Extension Order

  Some extensions modify YouTube's appearance and may conflict. Try disabling other YouTube customization extensions to see if that resolves the issue.

• Use One Style at a Time

  Make sure only one progress bar style is active at a time. Having multiple styles active simultaneously can cause conflicts.

• Report the Conflict

  If you've identified a specific extension that conflicts with Custom Progress Bar, please contact support with the extension name so we can investigate.
